Containing poly-L-lactic acid, Sculptra, helps restore the framework and stimulate collagen production for fine line and wrinkles as well as augmenting areas by increasing volume. It is indicated for people with healthy immune systems. For the best treatments plan, patients need to understand this is not a quick result. On the day of injection the area looks hydrated and the area of treatment is augmented. Over the next several weeks a process of reabsorption and collagen production begins with results taking approximately 4-6 weeks to be visualized. Day of Injection

Eat and drink before your treatment

  • Having good blood sugar levels and being hydrated will make it less likely that you will feel queasy during your treatment.

Prepping the area before treatment

  • Cleanse with an antibacterial soap and avoid lotion to the area.

Come in 30 minutes prior to appointment time for numbing

  • We recommend numbing cream application prior to dermal injections. The numbing cream needs a good 20 – 30 minutes to take full effect.

Reserve your next appointment

  • Sculptra® injections are typically repeated in 4-6 weeks following the initial session. A treatment plan with expectations will be discussed and the patient will be prepared for expected outcomes with each visit.

Expectations and Aftercare

  • The Rule of 5s. Massage the treated area for five minutes five times a day for five days after treatment.

  • Exercise. Avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for 24-48 hours to minimize swelling and bruising.

  • Compression is the key…compression shorts to minimize bruising is recommended.

What is the recovery time?

Sculptra® Butt Lifts have no downtime as there is no surgery involved in the treatment. Patients are sore after the procedure so we recommend no exercise for 24 hours.

How long do results last?

Results may last up two to five years.
